About Me:

I have provided counselling and psychotherapy in Derby since 2003 and am a postgraduate member of the Sherwood Training Institute (Nottingham). I have worked as a counsellor and therapist in a Derby Rape Crisis Centre.

I work with individuals on an open-ended basis for an agreed time period.

My approach to counselling and psychotherapy is primarily based around the therapeutic relationship. I also draw on a range of therapeutic theories such as Person-centred, Psychoanalytic, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and Object Relations psychotherapy.

You may be considering counselling and psychotherapy because:

  • You seek self-understanding and inner peace.
  • You experience feelings of depression frequently and this interferes with your day to day functioning.
  • You are experiencing difficulties in your relationships.
  • You have low self-confidence and would like to live more assertively.
  • You have experienced a bereavement, loss or disturbing change.
  • You experienced a frightening and traumatic experience and are suffering symptoms of post traumatic stress.
  • Your family has a disturbed and troubled history that continues to affect your identity and attitude to life.
  • You find it difficult to cope and feel depressed which affects your daily functioning.
  • You have self harm and suicidal thoughts.
  • You experience eating difficulties.

It is important to carefully consider what you need from psychotherapy or counselling, and the kind of therapy and therapist most suitable for you.
