Professional Qualifications - How I qualified to offer counselling and psychotherapy in Derby and Nottingham
My qualifications include:
I am committed to my ongoing professional development and regularly attend seminars and workshops with leading trainers from the international field of counselling and psychotherapy. In so doing I am continuously extending my knowledge base and experience, and supporting my work with a wider range of client's difficulties.
For example:
Problems with significant and close relationships.
Self-confidence and low self-esteem difficulties.
The impact and effects of childhood trauma and abuse.
Difficulties with coping with depression.
Coming to terms with a recent loss or bereavement.
I have a specific interest and understanding of dissociation. This is a coping mechanism used in times of severe trauma. I offer training and workshops around dissociation, healing and the therapeutic relationship.
I am qualified and have experience of successfully working with clients who have experienced childhood sexual abuse and mild personality disorders. However, if your problem is chronic, I will advise you of agencies who deal with these specialist areas of work.

Before training as a counsellor and psychotherapist, I worked for over twenty years as a Legal Assistant to the Senior Partner in a Derby based Solicitor's practice.
